Economic Development
Jefferson County is ideally located in East Tennessee within a day's drive of two thirds of the United States population. We are blessed to have Interstate 40 and 81 meet in our county and we have five interstate exits located within Jefferson County.
We are ideally situated within an hours drive of three airports: McGhee Tyson airport is in Knoxville, the Tri-Cities Regional airport in Blountville, and the commercial airport in Asheville, North Carolina.
Also, Jefferson County is within a 45 minute drive of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, America's most visited National Park. We are also bordered by two TVA lakes: Douglas Lake and Cherokee Lake.
All of this makes Jefferson County a great place to be!
